Baby Girl Names

I want to name my baby girl after one or both of my deceased grandmothers, "Marilyn" and "Anna", but using only the first letters. And middle name using "T", or "F" after my husband's deceased grandfathers. And my husband's name is also Frank.
  1. Adelyn
    • Origin:

      Variation of Adeline
    • Meaning:

      "noble, nobility"
    • Description:

Adeline in all its forms, including Adelyn, is rocketing up the list, but we do prefer the original to the variations. Or you might consider varying it yet further to Adelia, Adele, or Adelaide. Or lengthen it to Madeline/Madelyn.
  2. Annalynn
    • Madeline
      • Origin:

        English variation of Magdalen
      • Meaning:

"high tower or woman from Magdala"
      • Description:

Madeline, a lovely name with a soft and delicate image, is an old-fashioned favorite that returned to favor in the 1990's, combining a classic pedigree with a cute nickname option: Maddy.
    • Madilyn
      • Origin:

        Spelling variation of Madelyn
      • Description:

Madelyn is the most popular, phonetically-clear spelling of the lovely and stylish French name. Madilyn edges it toward Marilyn, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
    • Madilynn
      • Origin:

Spelling variation of Madelyn, meaning "from Magdala" or "high tower"
      • Meaning:

        "high tower"
      • Description:

This variation of Madelyn has the trendier -nn suffix and ranks lower than the single -n ending.
    • Madison
      • Origin:

        English
      • Meaning:

        "son of Matthew"
      • Description:

Since we wrote a book called Beyond Jennifer & Jason, Madison & Montana, encouraging parents to move beyond overused names, it's no secret what we think of this trendy surname name, inspired by a mermaid named Madison in the 1980s movie Splash.
